James Gilpin
Assistant Coach


Originally from Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom, Coach Gilpin has his Bachelors Degree from Davenport University. He also holds a US Soccer B License.
Coach Gilpin spent six years (1998-2004) in the Sunderland AFC Academy before playing two seasons as a Young Professional at Celtic FC (2005-2007). He came stateside to play at Davenport in 2009-10. Coach Gilpin is married to his wife, Annette.

Jack McCarren
Grad Assistant

Coach McCarren comes to Aquinas from Dublin, Ireland, by way of Pulaski, Tennessee. Coach McCarren graduated from Martin Methodist College in 2018 with a degree in Physical Education and Human Performance, emphasizing in Administration.

?Coach McCarren was a part of the Martin Methodist squad that won the NAIA National Championship his freshman year in 2012. He was a three-time All-Conference honoree for the Redhawks, twice as a first-team selection. During his senior season in 2017, McCarren led the team with 14 goals, eight assists and four game-winning goals in 17 starts. In his career at Martin Methodist, Coach McCarren recorded 28 goals and 15 assists in 70 career appearances.
